The relation of plasma vasoactive peptide concentration with UAP

Abstract:AIM:To probe into relation beween unstable angina pectoris (UAP) and vasoactive peptide. METHODS:We investigated the variation of plasma concentration of endothelin (ET), calcitonin gene related peptide (CGRP),neuropeptide Y (NPY) and substance P (SP) in 42 patients with UAP and 20 healthy subjects. RESULTS:When angina pectoris attacked ET,NPY,SP increased (P<0.05). Concentration of CGRP decreased. After angina pectoris was relieved,ET,NPY and SP concentration decreased to pre-angina pectoris level in 3 days but CGRP concentration was still high. CONCLUSION:The variation of plasma vasoactive peptide concentration was not only related to UAP attack but also significant to the maintance coronary diastole and corculation.
